Mid City Motor Inn

This is my little getaway from my home life as A busy single mum to enjoy some down time & relax in the spa.

Located on the northern edge of the CBD with the Pioneer River on the other side the Motor Inn is well located for a short walk to the shops. The Pioneer Boulevard along the river offers a easy walk in a westerly direction to the large Caneland Shopping Centre and a little shorter walk to the Forgan Bridge across the Pioneer River. The Motor Inn is U shaped with a pool and BBQ area in the courtyard. We were in room 25 on the upper level. The room is a good size and comes with a king sized comfortable bed which has side tables with interesting bed lamps. There is a lounge chair with foot stool, a good sized table with two chairs, a cabinet with two drawers at the top and a shelf part way down, and a wardrobe. There is a fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, iron and ironing board. The lighting is excellent, the mirror large a good size TV, air conditioner, ceiling fan and numerous power points. The bathroom is a reasonable size with two windows high up but lacks an exhaust fan. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful, you were able to pick your choice of items for the continental breakfast from the selection in reception (an interesting way of doing it). The information folder in the room was informative. It seemed to us that the owners had spent a week living in the room and as a result had equipped it to be useful for occupants. While it is not fancy everything is very practical. Overall excellent value for $106 a night.

This motel was a surprising little gem right in the cbd, close walking distance to lots of eating options. We paid $102 for the room which included a complimentary breakfast. A nice surprise, help yourself & pick up cereal, bread, milk, condiments from reception. No other motel on this trip so far has offered a complimentary brekky so much appreciated & this was also our cheapest room so far. Older motel with upgrades, not the flashiest inside but very comfy large bed, good shower & air con, nice & quiet. Guest laundry.Great overnight stop. Very pleasant young lady on reception.

Both the price and the location. It is an older place so not pristine but is reasonably well maintained and has always be clean when I have stayed. They have a selection of breakfast in office for you to help yourself, which is excellent. Free onsite parking and it’s only a 5 minute walk to the big ‘Cane lands’ shopping centre, along lovely riverside walkway at the back. (10 minutes walk along roads) The old part of town is also on the doorstep and really pretty for a walk around, or a good coffee at a cafe.

Flexible bed arrangements. Able to accommodate lots of children. Needed 7 separate beds. They were able to provide 2 rooms next to each other. Great for groups traveling for sports or dance activities.
